Eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring, bland or hard.
My husband often makes waffles as an after dinner treat but avoids the sugar and his latest batch was gluten free aswell.
You will need
5 x scoops of vanilla flavoured protein powder
**3/4 cup of buckwheat flour
1 tsp of baking powder
1 cup water
Toppings
Berries of your choice
Cream
Mix the water and the protein powder together , then mix with other ingredients. It may look quite runny don’t panic, if it is too thick slowly add more water until your get a pancake looking batter. Once waffle iron is hot scoop in a spoon of 1/4 of the mixture, one batch will make 4 waffles. Have the waffle iron on the highest or darkest setting. Leave for 30secs to 1 min and they are done.
All waffle makers are different so play around with time and temperature yourself.
Heat berries on stove top or in microwave to make a sauce or keep them whole and gently whip the cream.
You can add other toppings too.
1-2 waffles should be plenty for 1 person, they are high protein so will keep you fuller for longer.
** If you are not gluten free you can use any flour you have, wholemeal recommended, you will probably need less so slowly add it until you have a good batter consistency. Or try the buckwheat it tastes great and is better for the body than processed wheat flour anyway
